Weekly Mechanics
Hey, I thought they meant an actual mechanic.....my car is broke. :(
A lot, alot: Always write this expression, meaning "very much" or "a large amount," as two words.
There: Use “there” whenever you’re referring to a place. Look for the word “here” in “there”.
For Example: It took forever to get there.
Their: Use “their” whenever you’re talking about somebody’s personal object/possession. Think of the “I” as a personal pronoun to help you remember.
For Example: They made their own projects.
They’re: Remember “they’re” is a contraction of the words they and are.
For Example: They’re just annoying little kids.
Capitalization:
Rule: Names of individuals, the initials that stand for their names, and titles preceding a name or used instead of a name.
Example: Presedant Obama, R.L. Stien, Cousin Joe, Special Agent Bob Conners,
Detective Ralf.
Rule: Names and abbreviations of academic degrees, and Jr. and Sr.
Example: Billy Bob Joe, Sr.; Tracey Jordon, Jr.; Joe Sifter Carollof, Ph.D.;
Jack Donaghee, B.B.A.; Liz Lemon, BA.
Rule: Names of cities, countries, states, continents, bodies of water, sections of the United
New York, Hudson River, Clifton Park, Germany, Ireland.
States, and compass points when they refer to a specific section of the United States
Example: New York, Hudson River, Clifton Park, Germany, Ireland.
Rule: Names of streets, highways, organizations, institutions, firms, monuments, bridges,
buildings, other structures, and celestial bodies
Example: C.I.A.; F.B.I.; Shenendahowa, Waite Road, Secret Sevice.
Rule: Trade names and names of documents, awards, and laws
Example: The Magna Carta, the Declaration of Indapendance, the Constatution, the Oscar Award, the Gettysburg Address.
Rule: Names of most historical events, eras, holidays, days of the week, and months
Example: Thursday, World War 1, World War 2, Halloween, September.
Rule: First, last, and all important words in titles of literary works, works of art, and
