ELA
On November 17th, 2010, I took my first common assessment. This assessment was the 2009 ELA exam, which I took as a practice test. As I took the test I noticed it was relatively easy. My score on the exam was 22 questions correct out of 26. The questions I got wrong was5, 8, 24, and26. Question 5 was an inference question, number 8 was main idea, and numbers 24 and 26 were both inference questions. I think I got the first 2 wrong because I guessed wrong but the last 2 I think I got wrong because I was rushing. Next time I will take my time and try not to rush. Other strategies would be to reread my answers to make sure they are right.
On January 28, 2011, I took my second common assessment. This common assessment was the 2010 ELA exam, which I took as a practice test. As I took the test I noticed it was easier than the last one. My score on the exam was 24/26. The questions I got wrong were 3 and 21. They were both vocabulary questions, I got 3 wrong because I copied the wrong answer on the Scranton. I got 21 wrong because I guessed wrong. I think next time I should look over my Scranton to make sure I didn’t copy anything wrong. Overall I thought that the common assessment was a lot easier than the last one. Final advice would be to take your time, because I think that also may have been why I got 21 wrong.
